Dear Snow,

I remember years ago when we used to spend hours together. There would be sledding hour after hour, day after day. In fact we spent so many hours together I am surprised I never suffered with frost bite. My mittens would get so wet from time to time that I would resort to wearing socks on my hands. I am not quite sure how my mother dealt with the mess all the time. I particularly enjoyed the hill behind the little church on Mechanic Street. Making snow angels was a favorite too!

However, I must tell you that my feelings have changed. I can't stand you anymore. You arrive at the most inopportune times. Last year, my girl's birthday, this year during exam time, just to name a couple. I HATE making up days at work. I like having Good Friday and Memorial Day off. I want you to go away and never come back again, at least to my neck of the woods. If I want to see you again I want it to be on my terms...........perhaps a few hours drive. Please do not whiten my doorstep again.

Sincerely,
No More Snow in NC
