Over-reacting

Okay.......I need some reassurance here. I know I might be over-reacting a tad bit, but Tug seems to have acquired a VERY Southern accent as of late. This seems to practically have happened over night. What in the world is going on? Every vowel is elongated and when I say that I mean those vowels are stretched out to the max. What do I do? Is this just a phase? Or must I come to terms with the fact that I have a southern son through and through?

High school baseball went into full swing tonight. I was out there taking team pictures for the yearbook with Tug and Nor. They wanted to stay BUT it's just too cold yet when that sun goes down. We are ready for some spring sports around here. Ready for some spring weather too....These two need some serious fresh air.

Nor-nor has been a whiny pot lately. If memory serves me correctly I think this normally happens at the 3 year mark. I remember Tug being that way from time to time. Hoping this phase passes quickly. Ready for the weekend. Hope you all have a wonderful, restful weekend. Looking forward to my scrapbooking get together on Sunday. I have some serious stacks of pictures to get through.

Nor-Nor's 3 year stats

Nor-Nor went to the doctor today for her 3 year physical. She weighs 38 pounds, yes you read that right. And she is 3 feet 2 and a half inches tall. She is a BIG girl. This was her first time with the little blood pressure cuff. So cute!! She did a great job so of course we were off to Chick-il-lay for lunch. She ate 6 nuggets and was on her 7th when the lady came by with samples of their shakes. That was a nice little treat. I am not sure who has better milkshakes....Chick-fil-a or Cookout. About to have a carpet picnic.......that's all for now...

Some More Randomness Comin' Straight At You

Well, we are slap dab in the middle of another week and I can hardly believe that February is almost over. Let's see:
1. I FINALLY have my endocrinologist appointment on Thursday to find out about this thyroid thing that has been lingering basically since July. Let's hope and pray that there is some difinitive answer as to what is going to be done about all this.
2. Went to the dentist last week......and basically if you know anyone with say about 10 thousand dollars I could borrow, let me know. I am thinking I may write to Oprah and beg and plead for some help. Hey.....it's worth a try.
3. All you creative peeps out there need to give me some ideas for a name for my little side business of hair bows. There is a craft show in the Asheville area in October that I am thinking about attending so I need a cute name. Help!!!
4. Our yearbook t-shirts came in today. Talk about customer service. I just ordered them on Friday. I hate to keep talking about yearbook but it is kind of consuming my thoughts as of late considering that the rest of the book is due in about 3 and a half weeks. We got tye dyed (not sure how to spell that) and you cannot believe that these kids are willing to spend $17 for these t-shirts. I know......crazy!!! But it's what they wanted.
5. Frank is doing very well. It's amazing how attached you can get to a fish. Life in the G household would not be the same without him.
6. We are contemplating the idea of going to a NC beach a week for summer vacation. We are looking at Topsail Beach. It's pretty low-key or so we hear. Anyone know anything about the place????
7. Because of my doctor's appointment on Thursday I also made an appointment for Nor's 3 year well baby visit. I am taking the day off and very much looking forward to it. Sometimes you just need a mental health day.
That's it for now........I think.........

INTRODUCING.......

the newest member of our family..........

FRANK THE FISH
Yes, that's right we got a fish. We headed over to the pet store on our 'snow day' just to check things out and get out of the house. We like to pet the cats and dogs from time to time, but while there decided we could handle a fish. We were going to go with a couple of goldfish, however the sales clerk said they don't do really well in just a regular fish bowl. I guess they have oxygen problems or something and do better in a tank with generated air and a filter. (By the way, this is weird to me, because how do goldfish live in a pond???) But who am I to argue. Betta fish are the best for regular ol' fishbowl living, so we picked out Frank.
On a side note I have some other randomness:
1. I broke up a fight today in the cafeteria between two girls. I HATE breaking up fights when girls are involved. They just don't know when to quit. Thankfully an assistant principal and I were in the right place at the right time and the fight was over in about a minute. Have I mentioned that I am tired???
2. I just finished reading The Secret Life of Bees. Very good book. I think it's a movie too. So now I want to see if the movie is anything like the book.
3. While at Wal-mart this past weekend I bought one of those scrubbing bubbles toilet freshners. You pop it in the toilet with this dispenser and it cleans and deodorizes. I have to say that I highly recommend it. Love it.

Some Randomness for Wednesday

1. The kids are currently 'washing' the backdoor window with baby wipes.
2. We have a 'snow' day today. The county hubs and I work in is a very long county. So apparently even though we didn't get much of anything the southern end of the county did. No buses can run if there is more than an inch of snow on the ground. This is hilarious to me because I can remember walking to school in snow up to my knees. (I wasn't barefoot though.)
3. I just sent off my taxes in the mail. We are early birds. I don't like waiting until the last minute to do stuff like that. Let's hope and pray it's good news. I lwould ike to put hardwood floors in our living room. Hey, everyone has to have a dream, and that's one of mine.
4. I just looked on yearbook avenue, and we have 66 pages of our book left to turn in!!!! 10 of those pages will be the index which shouldn't be that difficult to put together. If spring sports would just go ahead and get started that would make my life so much easier.
5. I painted the master bathroom this past weekend. I know, what was I thinking? I should have been resting after the week we just had and then having Nor's birthday party. The original plan was that I just wanted to paint the part where the toilet is since it's separate from the rest of the bathroom. That wouldn't have taken very long. But you know me, once I got started I wanted to see the finished product. I thought the color was called Galaxy, but it's called Gravity. It's gray with a hint of blue. I love it. We will be painting the bedroom that color too!!! Maybe that will wait for spring break.
6. I just sent off 6 or so emails to find out information about local craft shows. It's time to get these hairbows and hairbow boards on the road. I think that will make a nice little side job.
7. I think T is going to take 2 Ph.D classes this summer. What I am excited about is the fact that they will work 4, 10 hour days and he'll have every Friday off. I think we'll get season passes to Wet n' Wild and that will be our summer fun.
8. T and I are going to try a new place for Valentine's Dinner. I am a little afraid.......we never have good luck when we try out new places for some reason. We tried some fabulous restaurants in downtown Charleston (Slightly North of Broad, Magnolias...) and had horrible experiences. This place is called Mikey and Mooches and we have heard great things from alot of people so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

That's it for now........
