Horrified

The longer T and I are in the world of public education, sometimes the more depressed we become. It's even more difficult for T.........there are very few 'good' moments to see. Don't get me wrong, there are good moments, they are just far and few between. You can have the greatest plan for a student, but if that's not what he wants, then it's just not going to happen.

I am amazed sometimes at the things students will tell me. Drugs, sex, under-age drinking. You name it and they are doing it. And usually these are not just kids from a bad background. This is kids with good grades, job, etc...... What is wrong with the parents today??? Are they blind? Naive? I AM SCARED. I am scared for us to put our children in public school. I am scared to put our children in private school. I am scared to home school my children. I know we take parenting one day at a time. But we want to be doing the right things. Oh how I hope we are......

Dear God........please give us the strength and wisdom to raise our children in this time. It gets more and more difficult everyday. I pray a hedge of protection around them. God I pray for a bright future for both of them.......surrounded by a loving family and Godly friends. I know You know every fiber of their being. I know You know the beginning and the end. I pray these two children will come to know You and proclaim Your word. I pray when the time comes they make the right decisions each and every time they are faced with anything including peer pressure. God I pray that T and I can make a difference in our small little world. Amen

Breaking........I Mean Dying some Eggs

Gotta love dying eggs. We always have a good time. Although both Tug and Nor were very tired so kind of out of sorts. I had completely forgotten Nor had been up since 5:45. Ugh!!!! Anyway, we got about 12 eggs dyed...........a few broke along the way but yeah, it's all good.

Ready for Easter weekend and spring break. Everyone needs a break from school. Hopefully we will have good weather the whole time.

Definitely Time for Another Post

It's almost Saturday again, but last Saturday Tug-tug had his first official soccer game. And they won!!!! Coach T was very happy. They did such a great job!!! Although thost 8 am games are killer for us.
Coming my way.......he wanted to ake sure I saw him score a goal, which I did!!! It was precious. He came away from the goal pumping his fist. It was great to watch.

Then this week Tug had his spring program at the high school. They performed Dr. Seuss songs with an emphasis on reading. I was a little disappointed..........it was VERY unorganized. And sometimes in situations like that I am amazed at how rude adults can be. The talking was out of control. Tug's the one in the middle..........Batman!!! It was cute to watch him trying to find us in the audience. It didn't take him long.

~What a week this has been. I can only see it getting crazier from here. Thankfully I took the day off. I need to get away from West for the day. PTL.......the yearbook finally got turned in this week. Only 9 days past due. 7 last year, so it should be in around the same time. We shall see.
~We are certainly ready for spring break.........and even more than that we are ready for summer vacation. That's what will be me through the next 50 days of school.

Halfway

Well, it's the middle of March already and I have barely posted and have no new pictures. Tug should finally have his first soccer game this Saturday. At 8 am no less. What are they thinking??? But the weather is supposed to be nice through Sunday.

What else has been going on??? I think I am finally over the bronchitis. Hopefully we are all healthy now. I saw "we" but I really mean me. It seems I am the only one who has been sick in this new year.

Tug has a spring program coming up in Tuesday. We are supposed to dress our kids up in their favorite story book character. Any ideas anyone?? I am really not sure what to do.

I had a bunch of stuff to say over the past few days but now I can't remember any of it. I guess it has something to do with my somewhat melancholy mood. I'll leave you with this.......a few lines from one of my all-time favorite songs:
"Where have you been? I've looked for you forever and a day. Where've you been? I'm just not myself when you're away."

New LR Floor

I can't believe it's already the second week of March and I am just now posting. But dealing with this bronchitis, which I am STILL not over, has not been fun. I am on the 7th day of antibiotics and still have a bunch of 'stuff' in my chest. I mean, really, how much snot can a body produce??? (Sorry I had to be gross there for a minute.)
Anyway, we were able to get hardwood floors in our living room. Goodbye nasty carpet. I can't believe how it makes the room look so much bigger. And I can't believe we got something that matches the entry and dining room perfectly especially since we have lived in this house for over 3 years.

Soccer 2010

Stretching before practice.....you can take the coach out of coaching but you can't take coaching out of the coach. Mrs. R said it was the most organized U6 practice she had ever seen. Are you surprised?? I'm not.....although if you ask T, he'll tell you he knows absolutely nothing about soccer.
Nor-Nor is out there 'practicing' too, but she isn't going to play. Dance is enough for her to deal with for now. Tug REALLY enjoys soccer though. He is liking it much better than t-ball. I think it's because there isn't any standing around. He was bored with t-ball. They had an inner-church scrimmage this past weekend. They won!!! First game is this Saturday. I'll update with more pictures.
