Mind Dump Part.......Who Cares

1. This has been a better week than last but still stressful. The end of the school year always gets like this. Braxton hasn't had a great week at school thus far. We are trying a few new things and have figured that he is 'playing us' to a certain extent. Hope a few of our new techniques work.
2. I got the bill for this year's yearbook and very thankful that I am able to cover it. Although, now that I got to thinking about it I am wondering how I owe more this year as compared to last when I don't have a jazzy cover, the book has less pages, and I ordered fewer copies. Maybe *Jostens* is trying to re-coup their losses from the past few years.
3. Sometimes you just have to be dramatic.........at home or in the classroom. "And the Academy Award for best actress in a drama goes to.............." Yeah, you guessed it...............me.
4. I was very surprised my 4th block did so well in the lock down drill yesterday. Thank you Jesus for that.
5. How do you stop a 4 year old from lying??? These aren't harmful lies, mind you, but lies nevertheless. Nor's Monday update for her class was that we went ice skating and that she wanted an ice skating party. And then she told one of the teachers yesterday that I was pregnant with 5 babies. What in the world??? Not really sure why Nor wants us to have another baby, but...........
6. I HATE rumors. And that is all I am going to say about that right now.
7. May is turning about to be a very busy month. But, hey, what is new????
8. I am ready for summer. I think there are about 29 days left of school at this point. And I am going to be really jealous of all those people who have Memorial Day off. Although I guess it could be worse, one of our *facebook* friends had her game cancelled because it snowed yesterday. Yuck!!!!
9. Very frustrated by our life group situation. Not sure what plan God has here, but thankful to Him for the support and encouragement of other life group leaders and friends.
10. Something I never thought I would EVER say to a student: "Thanks for sleeping in class today."
11. We are off to another prom this weekend. It's always fun to see the kids dressed up in their best and usually acting their best too. Although there was that one year........but that's another post.
12. I hate that I had to turn the heat on when I got home from work. It was 63 degrees in the house, I just couldn't take it. Thankfully it didn't run very long and it's off now. I love to sleep when it's cooler in the house.

I guess that's it for now...........maybe now I can get some sleep.

Miracles

The older I get, the more thankful I am that I had our children when I was 25 and 27...........younger and ALOT dumber. I am learning all sorts of things about pregnancy and childbirth. Soooooooooooooo many things can go wrong. Bringing a child into this world is truly a miracle. Tug's teacher lost a baby over the weekend. He was born at about 6 and a half months and didn't live more than a couple of hours. Totally unexpected by the couple and so incredibly heartbreaking. We can't even begin to imagine what they are going through. We ask for your thoughts and prayers for the Trudelle family. It has been difficult explaining this type of thing to a 5 year old who is very close to his teacher. And he is a creature of habit, any sort of change can throw us off. But he has done well this week and for that we are grateful.

A Tad of Bitterness

So ya'll know I am a tight-wad, cheap, whatever you want to call it. I want a deal. And you know from a previous post that I was VERY bitter about the amount I paid for the painting on Nor's wall. Well, here I am again at a little more bitterness. This is Nor's dance costume for her recital on the 23rd of May. I paid $70 for this outfit. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I want to know who is getting rich off the sale of these outfits? There is no way there is more than $10 of material here. I think I could have made this. I mean, I am now sewer, but still. And the thing on the left strap is a hairbow. I KNOW I can make a better hairbow than that. But that is enough of my ranting. After the recital I think we are done with dance. This little girl wants to play tennis. How random.

Beach Pics- A Little Late

Our trip to Isle of Palms for a few days over spring break was sooooooo needed by the 4 of us. After all the time of living there and visiting there we finally decided to go visit the USS Yorktown. We need Tug and Nor would LOVE that and they did. The above picture is the submarine and talk about claustrophobia. I can't believe this could have held 80 men.

Both of them loved climbing up into this airplane. We got to go all over the ship. It was both awesome and humbling. The only place we didn't venture to was the engine room. It was six flights down and after all the other stairs, the kids were done especially Nor.

We couldn't have asked for better weather for early April. The pool and ocean were VERY chilly. But our crazy kids weren't afraid. I think they have a little too much of their father in them. hahahahahahaha

Easter 2010

After the disappointment of the egg drop, we looked for 80+ eggs at Nana's house. They had candy and money in them. Not disappointed anymore.

What the bunny brought.....a new pair of pajamas each, coloring book, action figures, candy, two movies (Alvin and the Princess and the Frog.)
Very much looking forward to the this spring break and a few days at the beach. We have to get out of the state of NC for a couple days.

T-town Egg Drop

Saturday we went to an egg drop at the middle school. It was hosted by a fairly new church in our area. A church that is very similar to the Cove. It was pretty cool watching them drop from a helicopter. The downside to the whole event was that they sent out major publicity for this thing and didn't have near enough staff or events, etc.....They had 20,000 eggs at this event nad 40,000 wouldn't have been enough. Tug and Nor got no eggs and despite the conversations you may have with a 4 and 5 year old, the disappointment is still quite large. They managed to pose for a picture despite the fact that Nor NEVER looks at the camera.
