In Case you Didn't Know

It's been a whirlwind few weeks. I wrote last about my biopsy which still kind of turned up no answers. I met with the dr. Monday and he said surgery which I felt no peace about whatsoever. Then he called Wednesday and said I needed to do radioactive iodine. This will take place on Tues. and Wed. I am willing to try anything at this point that doesn't require surgery. The iodine will determine whether the nodule is 'hot' or 'cold.' Cold would be bad, so we are praying for hot.

We are getting geared up for the holidays. I really have to get some Christmas pictures scheduled for the kiddos. Hopefully that will happen in the next week or so. We have a student coming this evening to paint flowers on Nor's wall. Can't wait to see this room all together. I will post pictures when it's all finished. Then it's on to Tug's room. Not really sure what I am going to do in there yet.

The yearbook, I think, will be the death of me. However we do have about 35 pages turned in so that is a blessing. Now if we can just get the rest of the pages finished.

Biopsy Round Two

So here I sit on the eve of biospy #2. I can't believe I have to go through this again.........but such is life. It's worse this second time around because I KNOW what to expect. The first time I was totally ignorant of what to expect and in that instance ignorance truly is bliss. So short of knocking me out tomorrow, which they will not do, I can only hope for more pain meds. If I can just get past this, and I know I will, then it's smooth sailing. I am still convinced that this will turn out to be nothing. However, I do keep telling myself the words my sister told me, "it's better to be proactive rather than reactive." I'll stick with that. Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts during all this!!!
Well I do have a bit of relaxtion in me too!!! I just finished having another spa party. These products are so fabulous. If I didn't already have so much on my plate I would become a consultant. hahaha I found out that maybe the consultant could come to the school on a workday. This would be totally awesome. I'll have to work out the logistics of that one.
My dad will also be going to see the doctor. Both he and my mom think he is diabetic. He has been checking his sugar levels for several days now and they are off the charts. I hope and pray that this is something that can be controlled with diet and maybe some sort of medicine, not a shot. I cannot see my father giving himself a shot everyday.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween Everyone!!! We had a great time trick-or-treating in the neighborhood. Tug and Nor got more candy than they could possibly eat. I guess my students will also make out pretty good come Monday. They are getting all the leftovers and what Tug and Nor don't need. There is alot of it too!!! I wonder why all the pictures of my two children are taken on the front steps. Maybe that is the only place I can get them to cooperate. :) Be sure to scroll down for more fall fun.

Balloon Fest 2008

We had never been to the Balloon Fest in Statesvegas. It is one of their claims to fame. It was really cool and the weather was perfect. When you see a hot air balloon gliding through the sky, they look like they are moving at a very minimal speed. But let me assure you that these things move. It was almost in the blink of an eye that they were off the ground and way above us. That is once the balloon actually inflates. Next year we want to see the night-time event. We have been told it's really something to see. Thankfully the school system we work for gave us free tickets to the event. Very fun!!!

Punkin Carvin' and Strep Throat

Tug and Nor are over strep throat, thank goodenss, but that they both had it when we decided to carve out pumpkins a couple of weeks ago. It's not secret that I love fall, so I was a little anxious to carve pumpkins. We did it way too early, so I am hoping next year I can wait a little longer. We always have fun though. T has the most fun of all. He never carved a pumpkin as a child which I can never get over. Tug had a lion carved into his and Nor had a kitty cat. I am not really sure if you can tell that from the top picture but we sure gave it a try. They were real troopers despite being sick. And as I am looking back at these pictures I am wondering why my kitchen looks so junky???
