Honey Did

What glorious weather we had this Sunday! A great day to do a little project after church. We have a 'homemade' fire pit and we wanted to spruce it up a bit. So we got some bricks for border, pea gravel, a few bushes and moved the citronella torches. Waalaa.........a quaint little place to sit around the fire pit. (Oh and I cleaned the chairs and spray painted the table so they look brand new! Love magic erasers!) Still tons of projects to due but this one can be marked off the list. I wish I had a before picture because it really does look so much better. Props to the hubs.........he did most of the work.

A Milestone

Last night 2/23 marked a huge milestone in our lives as parents. Tug lost his first tooth!!! It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. He doesn't handle 'pain' very well but he was a trooper. I wasn't sure I could help him, but as it turns out thus far, the only thing I can't handle is vomit. You can't really see it in the bag (above). I guess I didn't expect it to be so small. I mean, I know they are his 'baby' teeth but it just seems that I remember when I was this age, they were bigger.
He was very excited about being able to leave his tooth for the tooth fairy!

Blue and Gold Banquet

Every year the scouts have a banquet in order of celebrate their accomplishments. Tug received his Tiger Cub badge. We had dinner and then went out for a treat to Sonic.

T was able to give Tug his badge. He was very excited. I stayed back in order to take pictures. I hope this is something Tug decides to stick with.

Freak Out! Kind of

Here's an update, of sorts:
1. It occured to me today as I was talking to my yearbook students that the book is due in 30 days! That's right, 30 days! I was beginning to freak out a bit as I said it. I am not prone to melt downs but I thought I might have one. Then the moment passed and I could breathe again. I have every confidence in my staff, but they are really going to have to work hard and so will I. It's always an amazing feeling when I get to open the first box when they arrive.
2. Tug has a loose tooth, one on the bottom. I have a feeling that this one could hang around for a while though.
3. Nor has a cough that won't seem to go away. My tried-and-true Vick's vaporub doesn't seem to be working this evening. Hopefully we can knock this out with a few more days of over the counter stuff.
4. I realized last week that I forgot that I love celery. Added that back into my diet.
5. I have the most wonderful husband in the whole wide world.
6. Headed to the doctor this week to have my neck re-checked. For those of you who have followed this blog for any amount of time know about my thyroid drama of 2 years ago. It's about time to get it checked to see if the nodule has grown since I opted not to have surgery. Although the fact that I have lost some weight leads me to believe it seems to still be working ok. So we shall see.
7. For those of you who have nothing better to do on Feb. 26th, we will be performing at "Day of Dance" to be held at *South Iredell.* We will be performing at 2..........

I guess that's it for now..................

Ducks

I love when you are standing in a store debating whether to purchase something and you just don't know how it will work. That is my cupcake story. I was standing in *Michael's* last week debating over a certain *Wilton* cake tip. I am glad I went with it. This was the result and exactly what I was looking for. And I guess if it hadn't worked I was only out $4.
The other cupcakes are supposed to be ducks floating in the water.
Very glad last week is over. This baby shower was the highlight of the week. One of the girls in our department in expecting a little boy in late March. So cute......as you can guess the theme was ducks. It was fun!!!
Part of our department.......this is only half of us. It's hard to get everybody in one room, there is always something going on.
Can't wait to meet Baby M.

Confessions from a Fat Girl Part 4

Well.........I feel like I can safely post this without a back slide. Every 10 pounds gotten rid of is a small victory. Got up this morning, went to Wal-mart before the Super Bowl shopping crowd and then headed for a workout and weigh in. I didn't get a chance to weigh in last weekend with Nor-Nor's birthday party and all. So.............drum roll.............I have gotten rid of 34 pounds!!!! Technically that is two sizes, but not ready for any shopping yet. Still a little afraid of those clothes tags. Very excited about this! In a whole new number on the scale.....and lovin' it.

I am sitting home now with a sick child, Tug. It's kind of nice for us to be enjoying the peace and quiet.....just chillin'. Nor and her Daddy are off watching wrestling and swimming. We are about to be at the end of the winter sports season. Two teams that may or may not win state championships. We shall see. Then it's off to the start of the crazy spring sports season. I am off to do some cupcake experimenting for a baby shower this week.
