Fall Getaway

Throwing this picture in.....the B&B had such beautiful hydrangea bushes.
Look at the size of this apple Nor-nor has. It's the size of a softball. We picked these up at an awesome roadside stand that we went to twice.

*The Inn at Orchard Gap* Highly recommended for anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle. As a matter of fact, in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Blue Ridge Parkway, in 2010 the innkeepers are offering the B&B at $75 a night if you stay two or more nights. Can't beat that deal. And the breakfast was pretty good too!!!
The Pumpkin Patch right next door to the B&B.
The view from our front porch. The Blue Ridge Parkway is the second rode over. Love it!!!

I'm Cured

Last night we watched a friend's 5 week old baby boy.........so precious. But if you know me, you know that in the past 6 or 8 months, I have been having baby twinges. Thinking that maybe we could add number 3 to the Griffin clan. Let me assure you that I am cured. Now don't get me wrong, he is very sweet and precious. However, I am not all about the long nights, wondering why is the baby crying, etc, etc. We have our hands full enough with the two we've got. Afterall, we did play musical beds last night. How fun is that???? Tug is off to t-ball practice this morning. Then they are coming back, going to Chicky and then *Monkey Joes.* I am going to do some much needed scrapbooking. I am quite behind.

Exhaling.... so now you get pictures

Dance pictures a little late. Isn't she cute?? I wish the shoes shots could be closer. Ballet shoes and tap shoes in little girl sizes. Love it. Now I can't wait until Christmas to see what they have learned so far. There is no place to peek in. They don't let parents sit in the room b/c of course they would never get anything done. Is anyone surprised by the purple leotard??? T is mowing the grass and I am making my way through laundry. About to start the 4th load. Haven't done any this week. Oh well.

Triple Threat

Okay........I am way too tired to get the dance pictures out and downloaded so hopefully later this week.........and there aren't any action ones anyway, but suffice it to say that we have a triple threat on our hands. You might be wondering what I mean. Gene Kelly, that most famous actor from the 40's and 50's and probably beyond, was a triple threat. He could sing, dance and act. Nor-Nor is it!!! She is the next Gene Kelly. She has it all. She can sing, shake that bootay, and you would only have to be around here for a couple of hours to discover that our little Nor-nor can act. This was our conversation when she came out of dance class this evening.
Nor-nor: Mommy, I got a sucker and already ate it.
Me: You did?
Nor-nor: We didn't get trophies mommy.
Me: You'll have to take classes a little longer. What did you learn tonight?
Nor-nor: How to sing.
My thought (not said aloud of course): I thought we were paying for dance lessons????

She was very excited to have her tap shoes. She said it was just like Annie. In case you didn't know, Annie is our favorite movie around here. I think she is going to love it.

The Weekend goes too Fast

Tug-Tug has a fascination with taking pictures. I don't have a picture of what was behind us.....a bright yellow convertible Corvette. He was loving that.
Nor-Nor is jamming out to *Decemberadio.* The Cove had the End of Summer Bash today. Free food, ice cream, drinks, jump houses......very fun!!! And we finally got to see the finished product of the new building in M'ville. Wow!!! It's incredible.
A Maize Maze....last minute decision to go try out a corn maze. They had bounce houses there too!!! Why is everything so expensive??? It was still interesting walking through corn that was 8 feet tall.
Tug-Tug led us most of the way. We never did find the questions or the mailboxes. The kids weren't really into it so we only spent about 30 mins. in. Most people took at least 2 hours to get the clues and find their way back out.

Laborious

I have never done a meme on this blog that I can remember, so I guess this one is fairly short and sweet and just as good as any other.
*How long were your labors?
Child #1: 18 hours
Child #2: 12 hours

*How did you know you were in labor?
I was induced both times. I highly recommend this if at all possible.

*Where did you deliver?
In a hospital both times........the same one.

*Drugs?
Of course. An epidural with both after the patosin (spelling?) to get labor started. I am still convinced that my 2nd epidural is what has led to the extreme low back pain I suffer with on occasion.

*C-section?
Thankfully........no

*Who delivered?
The same doctor both times........*Dr. Jones.* He had gone home with the first only to be called back 20 mins. later. He didn't think I was going to have baby in the middle of the night.

PLAN B

Nor-Nor dancin' her way back to the table. Too cute.

Look at Poppop's form. He beat us all.

Someone in *Iredell Co.* got something wrong when they opening the fair today on the 7th, but the place doesn't officially open until 5 p.m. tonight. What were they thinking??? Didn't they realize school and work (for most) was out today. Anyway, we didn't know this until we got there. So we looked at a few cows and some chickens and then started for plan B. We decided to go BOWLING. We had a really good time. And there is an archade there for Tug. He is such a sucker for the games. This is a very nice bowling alley. We will certainly go back. We were all aided by the bumper bars on our lane too. Off to work tomorrow. I would definately be one to vote for 3 day weekends all the time. Sometimes 2 days just isn't enough.

Swing for the Fences

I know you all have been eagerly awaiting pictures from our first t-ball practice session. This was really a try-out and Tug did really well. He seemed to have alot of fun so we were excited about that.
On a more somber note about Tug, it seems that he has had a harder adjustment to this change of kindergarten than we originally thought. After a 2:30 a.m. trip to the ER last night (Tug was screaming and moaning about his stomach for the 2nd night in a row....you would have thought someone was stabbing him) we have found out that he is majorly constipated and stressed. I guess our child hates change more than I do. Needless to say......I would have to chock this up to one of the top five worst weekends this family has ever had. Hopefully he will get adjusted soon.

A Better Beginning.....

to the school year as opposed to last year which was just crazy. There is change of course which I hate..........but Tug seems to be adjusting well. I hate that he is in afterschool care, but we are doing what we can for now. After picking him up today, I understand why some people have children really close together or want twins. At least then it's the siblings against the world. I didn't think I would say this so soon, but I am going to be so glad when Nor-Nor gets to elementary school too.
Please pray as Tug has some sort of urinary issue that we need to get figured out. I guess everyone in this family is going to take turns since last year was all my issues.
The county fair is in town this weekend......so much looking forward to a 3-day weekend. We all need a rest around here. Tug has t-ball on Thursday since last week was canceled due to rain. Hopefully I will remember my camera this time. Oh.......and hopefully I can make it to dark before crawling into bed this evening.
