Happy 5th to my "Baby"

The birthday girl before the party starts. Loved her new birthday outfit and I think she had so much fun we are finally over not having a 'party' last year because of snow.
One of the BEST inventions ever.... a cupcake cake. Just makes everything so much easier. And because of the location of the party this was our first bakery purchase at Target. It was fantastic, I would highly recommend.

Look at that mess! And I didn't haven't to clean up a thing. LOVE a destination birthday!!!! Why didn't I do this sooner???

No more pictures to download after this one because the ones already on here took forever!
What a joy Nor-Nor has been. She is sooooo funny. I am not sure if I will find her antics funny when she's 15 but for now she keeps us entertained. Can't wait to see what the kindergarten year holds for us. She started cheerleading tonight, I'll have to post more about that later. She seemed to enjoy it, so we shall see.

Confessions of a Fat Girl: Part 3

It's time for another confession. This past Monday I called my OB-GYN. I figured in this weight loss odyssey of mine I needed a point of reference. Call it morbib curiosity I guess. I can't remember what my weight was when I got married so I figured getting some figures from this doctor would be interesting so I called. I had to leave a message so when the records lady called back she gave me my weight when I first came to that particular doctor in Feb. of 2004..........I might add here that I was six months pregnant. Not a very fair comparison if you ask me. So I called back......what I was looking for was my post-pregnancy weight (6 week check up after having Tug). In my mind I am figuring that is the "smallest" I have been in recent years. It made me feel good to find out that I am 9 pounds less than that post-pregnancy weight. I am not yet ready to talk numbers here, sorry. But it was a boost for me in the right direction.

I have given this alot of thought in the last couple of days........when did I stop caring or stop paying attention to my weight??? I think I figured out the answer. Although I can't remember what I weighed when I got married I am figuring somewhere in the 220's range, although I could be wrong. I maintained that for awhile until we got pregnant in 2002. I had a miscarriage that September and I think it was all downhill from there. Not an excuse but certainly something I can look back on and say, "ah that was the beginning." And from that point on I think my weight just continued to balloon out of control. So here I am: doing this thing and feeling pretty good that I've made it this far...........to a weight I can't remember being in the recent past.

Wrestling, um I don't think so

One of Tug's favorite things to do when he comes to school with me is to hang out with Officer H, our school resource officer. We recently had a teacher workday so he got to spend the day with me, I mean Officer H. H has way more cooler stuff in his office than I have in my classroom. Looking at weapons in a glass case is way more fun than coloring with markers. And he always scores some cool stickers, pencils, candy, whatever H has. This time Officer H took him down to the wrestling room while the guys were down there practicing. Too much testosterone for me.........I am sure Tug got an education. And he tried on the gear for size. I don't, however, think we have a future wrestler on our hands. There are just some things a mama has to put her foot down about.

Please Hurry

SPRING..........I changed the blog background in hopes that spring would hurry up and get here. It's official, as of tomorrow we will have been out of school all week. Good bye teacher workdays in February and April. Good bye Good Friday and Memorial Day. Believe me, I understand keeping our students safe............I get it. But 12 straight weeks between now and spring break with no break for these kids. That is a looooooooooooooong time for students to go to school with no break. It should be interesting to say the least.

It's crazy how many people we know who are having babies this year and with the exception of one, all are boys. Can't wait to get my hands on this little guy. May have to make a trip to the Myrtle Beach area soon!!!!
