A Visit From the Easter Bunny

I must say that Easter (in terms of having a stock pile of things like I usually do) kind of snuck up on me. This is such a busy time for us.......I really didn't have much in the way of Easter goodies stored up. However, waiting until the last minute paid off slightly. I got several DVD's C-H-E-A-P so it was all good. And I guess my students will benefit from the candy. Tug and Nor didn't get that much (not as much as I remember getting as a kid anyway) but after the first few days they seem to lose interest. That's how it is with Halloween too.
A sleepy Nor-nor.........

The first one up..........

Confessions of a Fat Girl Part 6

I felt particularly F.A.T. today and not really sure why. It's been awhile since I 'confessed' so here goes. I had a former student come up to me today and say, "Mrs. G. you look so pretty today." How nice! I gave her a hug. She must have known I needed that since this was a FAT day.

So back to my first sentence. Not really sure why I felt that way today. I have been steadily going down the scale, I haven't hit my 50 yet, but I am VERY close. I am hoping to get there this weekend (before we head to the beach for spring break) but we shall see. I was thinking the other day as I contemplated upon this journey and where I have come: "When was it that I became afraid of sweating?" I mean, let's be real.........working out is no joke. Taking a hip hop class, I think, is very close to a zumba workout, although I haven't done zumba yet and can't wait to try. I SWEAT MY BUTT OFF! But when did I become afraid of actually doing something, anything and getting sweaty??? I am not really sure the answer to that question, but suffice it to say that I am afraid no more. Instead of the tread mill being my BFF, it's now the ellipitical. Never thought I would enjoy working out on one of those, but it's not bad.

Here's another deep thought for you, that isn't really related to weight loss per se......this past weekend there were many bad storms that swept through NC. Saturday morning did not turn out pretty weather. But once the storms passed it was sunshine through the rest of the weekend. As we left church and were driving around I noticed how many houses did not have blinds or curtains open to the glorious light and warmth of the sunshine. There are so many people that keep the sunshine out.......... in so many ways. Open the blinds people!!!!

Womanless Beauty Pageant

Disclaimer: For the faint of heart...........you may not want to scroll any further. This is SCARY!!!!!! Ok, so here's the story. T's nurse at LNHS goes on a mission trip every year for other nurses and doctors from the area. Usually the teams goes to Africa. It costs about $5000 per person to go so they do various fundraisers throughout the year to fund their trip. T was asked to participate and it was a no-brainer. Last year the team performed 34 surgeries in a week. T is convinced in the following pictures that he looks like the wicked step mother from Cinderella. T and one of the other area high school principals. Weird fact we learned about us and this other couple: we share an anniversary. Same day/same year............
One of T's football coaches singing and dancing to "It's Raining Men." Hilarious
The winner for the evening! I think he won based on his talent which is pictured here. He wheeled a suitcase out onto the stage and pulled his 6 year old son out of it. They did a ventriliquist (I am sure I didn't spell that right) act.

My Cup Runneth Over

How grateful I am for God's gift of friendship! What a great day spent in the G'ville! Ya'll really are lucky to have such a neat downtown! We had a great lunch, some shopping and some great fellowship..................AND for once I feel like in the middle of these two amazing women of God I don't look like a middle linebacker!
